Preservation Raffle at Payne's Farm

Several of the sutlers that are attending the Payne's Farm event have donated items for a raffle, the proceeds from which will go directly to the preservation donation that the event will send to the Civil War Preservation Trust.

Items donated to date:

  1. Federal fatigue blouse, size is a 48, made of FHW flannel. All seams including body and sleeves are flat-felled and the blouse is unlined. Donated by the Richmond Depot

  2. CS Tait jacket, size 38 - 48, blue or red collar. Donated by CJ Daley Historical Reproductions, Inc.

  3. A double buckle civilian belt with original iron buckles and dyed with iron-vinegar dye. Middle hole is punched at size 40 with surrounding holes ranging from 37 inches to 43 inches. - Donated by Glenn Courson, SWB

  4. US or CS enlisted kepi, made to fit the winner. Color/cloth to chosen by winner. - Donated by Greg Starbuck

  5. "On The Square" Pattern out of the FHW fabric swatch provided. A 100% Cotton/Linen Weave. All hand sewn button holes, all hand sewn and flat felled seams. Shell or porcelain buttons. Choice of collar style. Delivery will be made after the Paynes Farm event as the shirt will be made to the winners measurements.   6. Bayley tarred haversack made by Claude Sinclair. Assorted books included. - Donated by the OTB forum

Tickets will be sold at the registration desk on Friday and Saturday morning of the event, during registration hours. Prices will be:

  • $2 for one ticket
  • $5 for three tickets
  • $10 for seven tickets

The first ticket drawn will have their choice of the prizes and so on from there. Winners will be chosen and announced at the event prior to the event ending.
