Preservation:

The “After the Battle:Fredericksburg” picket event will be the first event of its kind held on the historic “Slaughter Pen” farm on the Fredericksburg battlefield. The Civil War Preservation Trust paid over $12 million for the 200+ acres of hallowed ground. With the permission of the CWPT, the Stonewall Brigade and the Columbia Rifles will reenact the hours following the main battle of Fredericksburg on the exact land that these events originally happened.

The sponsors’ goal for the event is one of local awareness and to raise some money toward helping CWPT pay off the large loan taken to finance the acquisition.

The registration for the event is only $10 per participant, low in today’s authentic campaigning arena. This is due primarily to the event trying to keep expenses to a minimum and not issuing rations to the men.

Though NOT required, the sponsors hope that participants will be able to donate money that they have collected from friends, family and others to hand over to CWPT at the end of the event. If necessary, below is a donation receipt to use for tax deduction purposes.

How to Contribute
Donations should be payable to "CWPT". Write on the memo line of each check: "ATB08". CWPT is a Federal tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so all donations are tax-deductible.

ATB08 donations for CWPT can be contributed several ways:

  1. Bring donations to the ATB08 event and hand them in at registration.

  2. Send donations payable to CWPT to the ATB08 registrar with your ATB08 event registration: After the Battle Registration, c/o Mike Chapman, 5734 N. 15th Street, Arlington, VA 22205
